Coq de Leon Pardo Rihnon ( Cape ) Mazos
CDC and Feathers / review-prioritize /

These magnificent feathers are produced in Spain from special breeds, Gallos de Leon.  Really nice feathers and produced in a way that the bird is not harmed. The feathers are harvested and regrow.

These are the PARDO breed which have flecked or speckled feathers.

These are Rihnon or Cape feathers, generally considered to be higher quality than colgaderas especially for hackling flies in the Spanish tradition. Larger feathers are more expensive but not always better depending on what you are trying to achieve.

For more information about the different types of Gallos de Leon see our blog article

Gallos de Leon are sold in Mazos of 12 feathers.  The images give an idea of how the type and style of feather look but since these are natural feathers every feather is unique so expect some variation in appearance.
